Hi Michelle, nice video. I understand what you are saying about claiming. What I realized, however, is that often our desires are coming from the EGO and the voice that is telling us that “we are not good enough” is actually a merciful friend who sees reality as it is. For example, I just listened to a call where a publisher was telling the truth about the poor submissions “wannabe” authors send to him all the time, being convinced that the world is just waiting for their “bestseller” when their texts are just “awful” as he put it.
I found that the EGO is not only a bunch of negative feelings, it is actually also a bunch of exaggerated positive fantasies about ourselves and it’s better not to claim those sometimes. So I actually have arrived at the conclusion that: if I can’t claim it, something is off and I better start searching for what it is. It can be an old fear or negative belief, as you say, but it can also be that I am hunting a dream that is not mine, that is way over my capacity or I am wanting it for the wrong reasons. Can you relate to this?

    • Hi Joseann,

Wonderful insight Joseann – Now we are talking! I love deepness!! When I am talking about claiming your value, it is from the inside, not the outside. The ego is the one that attaches your value to the external – like being a best-seller. Deep in the hearts of those feeling like they are the next best-seller is really a calling for them to serve at their personal highest level. To be able to serve at their highest level, they have to know their internal worth. In other words, they have to own what happens when they have served from their heart and know the value that has brought to their life and others. By claiming their worth from the internal – not the external best-seller status, they are able to gain the level of fulfillment that is in their hearts. You see they aren’t actually claiming their worth when they are looking to be the next bestseller. Instead, they are looking for the external to validate and affirm their worth, which leads to struggle rather than fulfillment. So I would say, if you can’t claim it – look for the ego attachment to what you are trying to claim and then get back to what you really what to claim from your heart! Thanks so much for this powerful comment. I so appreciate being able to go deeper with this mucho important topic that when misunderstood brings suffering to us. With love and appreciation – Michelle

  • I like the way you stated this, about claiming your worth. I will now focus on how to do that. Thank you.

    • You nailed it Deborah. That is what the video is about – claiming your worth, rather than external things. So happy for you!
