You Are Not Your Emotions – So What Are You Supposed to Do About Them?
You’ve probably heard it before: “You are not your emotions.” It’s true. Your emotions connect you to the past—to old patterns, wounds, and conditioning. And from that place, yes, you can unconsciously recreate the same experiences over and over again. So the teaching makes sense: Don’t be attached to your emotions. Change your perspective. Override them with heart energy. Choose love instead. And, it helps, temporarily. Doing this can help shift your state, which is a powerful tool. But it’s not the long-term transformation you are seeking. A part of you knows this exactly because you still find yourself back in the same emotional loops. I promise there’s nothing wrong with you. It’s simply the difference between a short-term strategy and your long-term evolution. The Difference Between Identifying and Utilizing There’s a profound difference between identifying with your emotions and utilizing them as a tool to remember your truth. When you identify with your emotions, you believe you are them. You collapse into them. You let them dictate your reality. But when you utilize your emotions, you recognize them as messengers—energy arising to help you dissolve the walls of belief that are keeping you from living from your truth. This
